My Story

How It All Began
My love for children has always been a part of me. Over 15 years ago, I began working with Muslim children through tutoring and Sunday school, and eventually also full-time Islamic school. It was through these experiences that I learned a painful reality: many Muslim children were growing up without a strong grounding in their deen, which made me fear for the next generation. That realization became my turning point. I knew there had to be a solution.

The Path to Muslim Parenting
I embarked on a journey to find it, first through Early Childhood Education, learning how children grow, learn, and build confidence, and then through Islamic studies during four years in Madinah.
I discovered that raising confident Muslim children requires combining the best of modern child development and the timeless guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah. This led me to found Muslim Parenting, a project dedicated to helping parents raise children who love their deen, live confidently, and grow into the leaders our ummah needs.

Building Community
Alongside Muslim Parenting, I founded Søstres Halaqa in Norway: a space for sisters to connect, learn, and grow together. I believe that change begins not only in the family, but also through a strong, supportive community.
My Mission
Through lectures, books, and coaching, I help Muslim mothers navigate parenting challenges, from managing screen time and disciplining without yelling, to building emotional connection and raising children proud of their deen. My approach blends proven child development strategies with the timeless wisdom of Islam, giving mothers the tools and confidence to parent consciously, lovingly, and intentionally.
Who I Am Today
I’m Umm Salih Mishal, a Muslimah mother of three. I began my journey in the USA, where I was born and raised, and went on to earn my degree in Early Childhood Education and work with children in many roles. Today, I live in Norway with my husband and three little ones, homeschooling and continuing to learn, teach, and guide Muslim families.
My mission is simple:
to help mothers raise a generation of strong, confident Muslims who know, love, and live their deen with ihsan (excelllence) in all walks of life.
If you’re ready to step into your best version of motherhood, I’d love to support you. Together, we’ll work toward your parenting goals in sha Allah.
